Organisational Change Manager (IT Projects) Contract


As outlined in the book “Who Moved my Cheese?” by Dr. Spencer Johnson the only constant in life is change.
We are looking for a passionate change manager who can create awareness, understanding, buy-in and support of initiatives and build a feedback mechanism to facilitate open discussion for improvement opportunities on various change projects.

Purpose of Job

Accountable for the people-side of the change element of the company’s project by identifying and addressing the human risks involved in implementing the change, enabling impacted stakeholders to ensure adoption, embedment and proficient utilisation of the change/s.

Develop the people change strategy and manage the people change effort on projects ensuring that all is delivered on time, in budget and in scope.

Working with the Business Analyst to develop and roll out training to super users and or User Acceptance Testers.

Key Accountabilities

Improve the customer and colleagues’ experience by mobilizing and managing effective delivery of the people change aspects related to the clients projects

Outputs to deliver this accountability:

  • Build change ownership in conjunction with the various business heads
  • Support project teams and senior stakeholders to integrate people change management activities into project plans
  • Embed all standard change and enablement frameworks in the organisation
  • Ensure initiatives being delivered meet business objectives with a high focus on effective people change management, including reducing resistance to change
  • Ensure coherent change management delivery plan is developed for each work stream / initiative covering the following areas:
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication plans articulating the benefits of the various projects
  • Training approach that covers all aspects of the business needs related to the projects
  • Tracking the delivery and execution of the project plans such as the technical components, operational and people readiness
  • Ongoing change assessments to monitor how people are experiencing the changes and status of adoption
  • Ensure people change initiatives are embedded in impacted business areas
  • Creating metrics and dashboards to measure and track adoption across projects

Speed of execution and projects aligned to the strategic intent of the organisation

  • Contribute to the development of new and relevant people change frameworks, guidelines and toolkits
  • Contribute to building and empowering change networks in the organisation
  • Proactively drive relevant departmental communication initiatives
  • Ensuring all affected stakeholders, leaders and sponsors remain aligned

Drive and Business Direction

Outputs to deliver this accountability:

  • Provide input into the design and roll-out of initiatives to ensure these are shaped in line with customer and colleague insights to ensure high rates of adoption
  • Create awareness, understanding, buy-in and support of initiatives and build a feedback mechanism at strategic touch points to facilitate open discussion for improvement opportunities
  • Act as an engagement interface between the Business and project/enablement teams, ensuring that any dependencies are identified and managed
  • Support the development of insight into key processes and /or people issues which are likely to impact effective roll-out and embedment of initiatives. Provide the oversight to ensure these issues addressed
  • Lead with passion and determination the resolution of entrenched business issues that may act as obstacles in the delivery of initiatives
  • Proactively identifying synergies across teams and within initiatives to ensure we leverage all opportunities for quick and efficient delivery of initiatives
  • Develop innovative and creative solutions to long standing issues that may hinder embedment of initiatives in the business

Be an effective leader

  • Proactively build and maintain relationship with key stakeholders across the business, looking for opportunities to leverage and build global / cross cluster solutions
  • Deliver high quality briefings and analysis for senior stakeholders
  • Act as an ambassador and role model in terms of both delivery and behavior

Education and Experience Required:


  • Relevant B-degree
  • Change Management certification,
  • Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools


  • 5 years Change Management on IT projects
  • Experience on systems implementations/migrations pertaining to digital, automation, payments, Infrastructure related programmes will be an advantage

Knowledge & Skills:

  • MS Office Skills – Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to manage a program of activity to budget, time and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with self discipline and motivation and leading a team experiencing these demands.
  • Experience in analysis, data gathering, data collation and data interpretation.
  • Experienced in team management with strong leadership and motivational skills.
